Belmont Walk and Alice Street Improvements
Cardiff Council will be making improvements to the Belmont Walk and Alice Street area of Butetown. The improvements will focus on the areas around the houses, with the aim of making a better environment for people to live in.
A first stage public consultation for the scheme took place in February and March 2017. The purpose of the first stage was to investigate current issues within the area and invite your views on how the local environment could be improved, in order to establish community priorities for change. We received a positive response from many residents, who welcomed investment in the area.
Draft plans have now been drawn up for improving the local environment. Proposals include new front gardens to some houses, the gating of gulleys and new paving.
Local residents are invited to drop in to discuss the plans with council officers on Tuesday 19th September between 2pm and 7pm at the BEAT Centre on West Close.
If you cannot attend the drop-in session, we will visit you at home over the following week.
The plans will be available here from Tuesday 19th September.
The proposed improvements will only take place if enough residents support the proposals, and if the required permissions (e.g. planning permission) are granted.
It is anticipated that the improvement works will start in 2018.
